This package is so dangerous that we are surprised that Congress has not caught on yet. And it's so simple to use that you can enjoy it almost immediately.
Make a backup of your current Marathon Infinity shapes file. Then Open the "Earth Shapes Shuttle". It will ask you where your shapes file is. Find it, and let the marvelous Shapes Shuttle (created with Charles LeChasseur"s Shapes Juggler 1.0) do its thing. It may ask if you want to optimize the file (of course you do) and it might take a minute to update your Shapes to the Earth set, but when you're done you'll be all set to tackle the three-level Marathon Earth Scenario.
Marathon Earth features a reworking of the hugely popular "Marathon Roswell", followed by a second level of redwood forest. The third level is a mind-crackling dreamscape of Hometown USA, straight from your most heinous nightmares.
Seeing as the idea is to create outdoor, Earth-like environs, some of the perspective doesn't quite jibe with what we're all used to in real life. But that's okay: one beta tester said "It looks like a dream". Cool. Also, if you play the map without patching your shapes file, you'll get some strange results. Kind of like a Salvador Dali painting. I wouldn't recommend it, but you could try it.
Enjoy!
